We live in a wooded area and my granddaughters have ticks several times a year. We've never had any problems from them. If you've only seen one where you live I wouldn't worry about treating the yard, but if you start seeing them alot -- then I would treat it. If you didn't find it attached then it hasn't been attached and you have nothing to worry about.
