What about reversed sneezing? Does it sound like snorting? Dry cough/hacking? Wet cough? I've personally heard kennel cough, collapsed trachea, and reversed sneezing (none are pleasant to listen to). They all have a different sound. Below are what
I think each sounds like. I'm not a Doc nor Vet.
* Reversed sneezing sounds like a snorting attack. Like after they drink too much water. If you think this is the case, cover your baby's nostrils for a second with your fingers. This will make him/her breath out of his/her mouth. If it stops, it might be reversed sneezing. There's nothing you can actually do at the vet for reversed sneezing. It's scary, and it stinks, but just keep calm and follow the directions above when it happens.
* Kennel cough sounds like a little wet cough.
* Collapsed trachea sounds dry...like the sound a seal makes. I've noticed (the two dogs that I've seen) that the dogs stretch their head/neck out when they are doing this. Maybe as to try and stretch the trachea to allow more air in.
Hope that helps. And when in doubt, go to the vet.

I know I do! LOL
