Some will tell you to teach him the command drop. So he'll drop whatever he has. To teach drop....offer a treat in replace of the object...you want them to think what YOU have is BETTER than what they have. Eventually they're drop whatever on command. HTH.

have done this trick to . . . . he would actually stay put if I say "stay" . . .even forever maybe but the minute I get close enough, off he goes!
