When I moved here with my mom and dad from Romania in Nov 1990 under a 6 month visitation visa, we filed for political asylum because Romania was a communist country. Well, in Jan of 1991 they changed to a democratic gov. However..we've been "pending political asylum" since then. We pay taxes and have worker's authorization cards so were not illegal, but we're not residents..we dont have a greencard. My mom just called me and said that we got four notices in the mail telling us to go down to the Immigration Office in Atlanta for them to take our pictures and fingerprints. We dont know if this is a good thing or a bad thing yet. PLEASE PLEASE send some prayers our way..Im freaking out right now..Ive been here since I was 6 and its all I have ever known..

Okay Hun, calm down. I can tell you this sounds like something that just happened to my dad, and he is an immigrant (legal). He got a letter saying he needed to go to Charlotte, NC and have his fingerprints, and iris scanned. Everything was okay. You'll be okay. I think this is a good thing. Hang in there!!
