Seems like a dog with a shorter coat would be more comfortable in the heat of the summer --- but a dog's hair insulates them from the heat as much as it does from the cold.
If a dog has long or thick hair - the heat doesn't reach their skin or bother them as much as it does a dog with a short coat.
