We had a day like that once. My daughter and her husband borrowed our van to go to Wichita (100 miles away) to buy baby furniture. Well, they had trouble with the van and had to get parts and my SIL had to work on it. Well, this happened right at 5:00 and finding a parts store within walking distance was difficult (daughter was quite far along in her pregnancy), but they got it done. They shopped some more and later in the evening they stopped at Wal-mart, well, this time the van caught on fire!! So they called home wondering what to do. It was late so my husband had to book them a room to stay in since they didn't have a credit card. They called a taxi to come and get them and take them to the motel. It didn't arrive for 1 1/2 to 2 hours. They finally get to the motel, but they haven't eaten so they decided to walk down the street and get something to eat. When they would reach a restaurant the lights would go out because it was time to close. They had to walk some distance down the street before they finally found one that was open. My daughter was in tears over everything that had gone on that day, but the adventure wasn't over yet!!

The next day we get around and my husband gets a trailer to pull the van home on. Since we are so far from home and in the big city we have several things to do ourselves. All my daughter wanted to do was come home so she wasn't very happy with us. When we got there we loaded up the van and did what we needed done. Well, we stopped at a fast food restaurant to eat then headed for home. The van that we had driven out to pick them up started having transmission troubles before we got home!! Then I went to find a receipt in my purse and I couldn't find my purse. I called the fast food restaurant and, and sure enough, I had left it there!! One hundred miles away!!! I had to drive back out to Wichita the next day to get my purse. Pretty soon we were saying, "I wonder what's going to happen next!" and we were laughing about it. It ended up that my daugher hated the furniture that she had picked out and they had to make another trip to return it!

I'm sorry about the bad day that you had. Just remember.....When life gives you lemons.....make lemonade!!!
