Hi all. Sorry it took me so long to reply. It has been a tough few days. We have been here at Riley since SUnday, and just got an answer today. She has Rheumatic Heart Disease. This begins with Strep Throat and turns into Rheumatic Fever. Then it damages the heart and brain. The good news is that her brain will begin to heal itself. We are on medicine to control the muscles. The bad news now is her heart. It has damaged 2 valves in her heart, but the doctors don't think they want to do surgery now. They said they want to wait and see what happens. She is going to be on one shot of penicillan a month for the rest of her life. But you know what??? I will take it if she gets better and comes home. She is doing better now, but the next few weeks will be tough. She can not go back to school (only 3 weeks left), so now I will be trying to balance working full time, taking care of her full time, Tutoring her in school, going to college one night a week, AND trying to keep up with my son's ball games. Fun stuff. Still keep us in your prayers! Thank you all so much!
