Kimberley - your post reminded me SO much of this awful Temp job I had. I worked in an office FULL of women. Back then - the skirts were above the knee and not short like they are now (which I LOVE) but back then - my skirts were ABOVE the knee ....but not 'short' if you know what I mean.
Well guess what. YUP....the 'women' didn't like the way I dressed. I got called into the Managers office & was told they were complaining. WHAT DID THEY CARE what I wore ?
anyway - long story short - I received a warning.
I didn't reform and continued to wear my own clothes that I had for OFFICE WORK ....and I was FIRED ! lol ! I'd never been fired in my life
but I'll tell you this - I stood my ground and didn't cave to the small petty minds....
and the job really SUCKED anyway....so it all worked out for the best
and I didn't have to buy anyone a Broom !
