Help !!! I have tried everything! Moe is a male yorkie born Aug 2005, unfortunately winter here in the North East Uk didn't allow us to start potty training him right away, but he was very good about using his paper. When the weather became better I began moving his paper slowely closer to the back door, which is where our other 2 dogs go to potty.I would take Moe outside to get a "sniff" of the area and such, but no pressure to actually be successful, as it was still wet and cold most days, so he wouldn't stay out very long, even with a coat on. About the time his family jewels dropped he became Mr. Mark the house, and somehow forgot the paper even existed. He also has taken up a very odd habbit of thinking the human toilet is where he should go. he poos and pees next to it, and nothing I do or say will change his mind.I have followed the directions of training books, I have done what worked in the past for our other 2 dogs, 1 male one female, both fixed. I have asked around for advice, nothing I try seems to work, and this is getting very out of hand....I understand the marking is due to we need to fix him as well, but the not going outside bit, I can leave him there for hours , watching from my window..he just hangs on until inside.....I have tried putting his poo outside and wiping the cement area he is to go on with his pee.....he still is quite sure he is to go by the human toilet. He is starting to get older now, and I really need him trained before i begin a new job.....I have been trying all sorts of things since Feb, he just don't want to know, and even when I gently scold him for blatently going in in front of me, not much I can do as I am using the human toilet.....he just walks about like he has done no wrong and could care less what I say......I am truely wondering if he is putting himself above me as he has become a little male now, or if he is trying to control and be the leader.Whatever it is.....I need help! I love Moe so very much and would never want to be rid of him, but my husband is wearing thin with all the peeing in the house. HELP! |
