Ah! Im so sorry and to love a dog like a child doesn't have to be a yorkie!
can you visit her? and you said there are three other dogs? that would be so much fun for her to have someone to run and play with, what ever you decide will be in the best interest of you both, I recently had to give Ted back to his mom, (my daughter) so I know how sad this is but maybe you can visit her there and see how she adjusted and it may make you happy to see her loved and playing with the other three dogs.
