Sebastian and Susie were both very special to me specifically as opposed to being a family pet. I imagine the Sebastian was just plain grateful for being rescued and having someone to communicate with. Susie (my childhood cat) was my first pet and she adopted me instead of the other way around. (I was 5 and my brother brought her home asking if he could keep her. But she latched on to me right away so he gave her up. We slept together with her nose pointed into my ear and she would purr me to sleep. Long ago before I knew how valuable spaying was she would have kittens every year but refused to give birth unless I was right there beside her. She would wait if I was in school and would have them beside my head on the pillow if I was asleep. So yes I guess there was a special connection with them. I don't think Sebastian is around all the time though, if it is him. These things have been happening a bit more frequently lately. (Ever since I decided to buy a Yorkie?) Hmmm.
