We pay for our boys cars, insurance, and gas. They both got their license when they turned 16. We still pay for their insurance and gas, but both are Med Students living here at home. We always told them from day one, no grades no car.
Your husband is right on the insurance for the car, but not if your son will be driving it. If the car is in his name and something happens, all bills will go to him, his fault or not. If the car is in your name, the insurance will cover the other car, but not your's if the driver does'nt have a license.
