Paris is the best for sightseeing (that's just me though) . . just take the green open-deck tour bus and it will take you everywhere . . one fee to cover everything in 2-3 days. Don't forget to eat as much gelatos . . . they are out of this world and so many flavors you'll just go crazy. And Germany is great for shopping . .Marienplatz stretching all the way to hauserstrasse . . over a mile long of just endless shopping stores! Can you tell I am a shopaholic Oh and Venice stinks in the summer didn't think it was romantic at all and sooooo expensive! Since you are just backpacking, always order to go as there is extra charge the minute you sit down . . . oh buy bottled water in grocery stores as supposed to restaurant . . as it will cost you an arm and a leg. Oh and their toilets are sooooo weird . . . undescribable so you will just have to see for yourself . . . London is darn expensive! Oh, and don't bother taking a tour bus in Rome, you can cover all the sights on foot! There are a few more things but it is better left unsaid . . . .
