Confused New Yorkie Mum...my first post on YT!

Oscar is a 6mth 2.2lb sweetheart and I've had him now for just over 2mths. I've been reading these forums and though I haven't encountered any major traumas/dramas yet, I feel better prepared for any mishaps I may encounter with this little guy. I am an absolute NUT over this guy - he goes everywhere with me - even to work!

Oscar has had diarrhea for a day and a half now and I can't figure out why. He's still eating/drinking as normal (no change in his food) and he's still acting like a puppy (wanting to play, chew, etc.). We spent the weekend at my parents and there was a lot going on on sunday so he wasn't able to take his daily naps like usual - I just wondered if the change in his routine might have caused the diarrhea? We came home last night and the diarrhea has persisted though not as frequent (just loose bm once today- he usually only goes twice a day). Just wondered if anyone had any thoughts on this....

ALSO, I've read the posts about vaccinations and such - there was mention about NOT giving the rabies vaccine while he is under sedation for his neuter - can someone explain this further to me? My vet was going to give him his shot when he went in for his neuter - should I say no? She wanted to give it to him when I took him in at 4mths for his first check-up after I got him and I knew to wait until he was at least 6mths - now I dont know what to do as far as this is concerned. I'm also extremely nervous about his neuter... sooo scary to think of this little guy having to go through that - I've heard some scary stories - any words of encouragement or suggestions to make things easier on him and me would be much appreciated!!!

Thanks so much - sorry for the lengthy post!!!
