I've been quit for almost two years now and let me tell you, the pride NEVER goes away! What worked for me was staying away form anywhere smokers might gather. That was hard since my husband is in a band and the bars are so full of smoke you don't need to actually light up to get your buzz. Drinking plenty of water and chewing gum really does help. Cravings only last 5 minutes at the most, try to hang on to that thought. They will occur less and less. The best thing I found was whenever a craving came along I changed something. Stand up, switch tasks, straighten the covers on your bed. Just do anything as long as it changes what you are doing now.
Good luck.
