My 3 year old beagle, Copper was the same way, I'm not even sure, looking back, when it was that he started prancing and dancing when every time he saw the harness, but now he does. Bailey is 5 months, he literally hated having anything on him at all, harness, clothes, collar, you name it....at 5 months , he is a lot better then he used to be, he doesn't run to get it on, but at least now he sits still while it is put on and goes straight to the door, wagging his tail.....We only use a collar for the tags, and it seemed like that was the thing that bothered him the most, so we took a few days leaving it on a little longer each time., so that now, he doesn't mind it either.
Hang in there, they seem to realize that the harness means , "out, walk, wee funn.." , over night. Good luck.
