I could scream!!!! I have a sister that has twin girls who are almost eight years old. She had trouble conceiving so she has really spoiled them. Since they were young the whole family has tried to tell her she was asking for trouble if she didn't get them under control but she hates to see them unhappy about anything. As a result they can be very wild. Well, they LOVE Gus and guess what? Yup, she got them a yorkie!!! If ever there was a household that shouldn't have a small dog it is their house. I fear for this dog. I still can't believe she did this. We are a very close family so she knows all of the dangers because I talk about Gus all the time and don't let her kids even touch him unless I am standing over them. I would NEVER even consider leaving him alone with them for a minute! I know some kids do well with small dogs, another sister (I have five) has a Maltese but she is the boss and has very strict rules. Her eight year old is wonderful with Gus-still supervised but I know she won't pick him up or jump around him. She sits and plays with him.
I'm starting to ramble now but I'm sure you can all understand why I'm so upset. I see this as an accident just waiting to happen but there's very little I can do.
I will be seeing them this weekend for the girl's communion and I will try to talk some sense into her but I doubt it will do much good.
Oh, and to add to my unhappiness I had a girl's name that I loved before I knew I was getting Gus and told them I didn't want to tell anyone because I didn't want anyone to use it in case I ever got a girl. They convinced me to tell them saying they wouldn't use it, yup again, they named her it because her girls loved it.
Sorry this is so long but I am very upset and worried about this dog.
