We always used puppy food for our other terrier when training her...they worked wonderful and the size was perfect. You don't want to be giving them something too large when working with them.
That's a good idea. I don't know why it's never come to mind for training treats. I know it's a big treat when they can steal some of my Malmutes dry food and it is actually pretty small. If you look at the ingredients on some of these treats you really don't want to give them to your dog. Mine are all on dry food so they aren't picky and will probably respond well to this.
