Cajungal - My pup runs like a little jungle bunny if he has something he doesn't want me to take away from him. However, I have him so that "stay" and "sit" commands will get him to stop - and then I can get the item.

Also - I have small pieces of chicken in the fridge (and freezer). These are my dog's favorite things in the world. I think they would drop anything to get chicken.

****** Also - depending on what my pup has - I don't chase him every time he has something he shouldn't chew on. Many of the things he finds around the house are harmless, and I take my time getting them away from him. Usually, I just distract him and find something he is more interested in
---like chicken!

I think if you're in the habit of going after him everytime he finds something to chew on, he always be ready to run.

You are sure having a time with your little puppy, aren't you? I'm sure a lot of the problems you're having will lessen when the little girl gets a little older. You're used to an older dog - and your new little girl is still only a pup. And, most of our pups do the things that yours does. With patience and continued training, things will fall in place eventually.

******* I put my pup on the fenced patio today - and he ate (pulled off rather) most of the flowers on the petunias that I just planted in pots.
Then he went on to play in the hose and in the flower beds and soon became a dirty, wet, little rat. Now we're in the house and he wants the sandwich I'm eating.

Good luck - Carol Jean
