First off, let me begin by saying that I am not trying to bash anyone here or p**s anyone off. I just want to throw my 2 cents in. And I hope that some one, at least one person can relate to me here.
I have been wanting a yorkie since I was about 15 maybe younger. I am 29 now. I work hard every single day but I dont make much money. I do however love my job as a dog groomer at Petco. I have read every book that there is and researched the breed to the fullest that I possibly can. I would give anything to purchase a yorkie but the reason that I have not is because people are asking these out of the ballpark prices for them. I can not justify spending that much on a a puppy since I feel that if I spent that much on the dog, I wouldn't be able to afford to take it to the vet if something needed to be done like a surgery or something serious or something like that.
I have over time collected so many things for my "future" puppy that you could only imagine. I bet I have enough collars that the little thing could wear a different one every hour for a month. I also have all kinds of special little beds, carriers, combs brushes, etc etc. However here I sit without a yorkie.
At the present moment in time I have a carin terrier chinese crested mix male pup that is fixed and is the love of my life but he is lonely and I want my yorkie some thing fierce. I do not plan to breed or show just spoil rotten and take everywhere with me.
I joined this group to learn even more about the breed and to get to know people that do share my love of the breed. But I do have to say that it really makes me mad and depressed when I see people on here saying that they want to find a home for thier puppy that will love him and treat him like a baby and spoil him, but then they are either not willing to come down on price or they are waiting to find the person that makes the highest offer on the pup. Here is sit, with all the love in the world and all the knowledge that I can possibly have and what do I have?? I am not trying to do the "oh poor me" thing here but I am just mad that I am willing to give a puppy a home where he/she will be treated like a king or queen and given love for its whole lifetime, one where on rare occasions will the little guy/girl be alone at home yet no one is willing to work with me. I also just joined this site and was willing to help rescue some maltese and yorkies along with some other members of this site without a second thought.
Can some one please help me understand why this is????
