California is definitely more expensive when buying a yorkie. I think it is supply and demand. There are many people here who want a small dog and they are willing to pay a lot. Lola was cheap compared to most yorkies I have seen for sale. We did not care if she had papers or not. I just wanted a puppy. A lot of people want them small or as many people call it a "teacup." I realize that this is not necessarily healthy. I wish Lola would grow more even though she is a desirable size to most people.
