Kaymo -- Well - it certainly is a whole different and much sadder story when no one comes to a little boy's party. I'll bet he was really disappointed. That is truly sad....
To be honest - pet parties are for the people - not the pets. I think most pets would just as soon skip the whole thing.
I had a party for my cat and her kittens. We were all getting back together after a month's separation. They had all gone to members of my family - so it was really just another excuse for a family get together. I know this was the dumbest idea in the world - and my family (one a psychologist - another a doctor) was ready to commit me for even thinking of it. They were using words like "neurotic," "she needs to get a life," "she needs grandchildren," and "she's losing it." Then, needless to say, none of the cats remembered each other and all we did all afternoon was chase wild cats around....terribly unhappy, wild cats. I have still never lived this "dumb idea" down.
The only get togethers I have any more for my pets are -- "Come on over and let's take our dogs for a walk in the park," or "Come on over for a visit and bring your dog so that our dogs can play together while we visit." These things usually work out well.
However - I am sorry that no one showed up for your party....that is a bummer. Not nice at all!
