I had to laugh when I looked at your pup. I see what you mean about his cut - but he looks so cute!! Wish he were here - I could make an improvement on that cut and I'm not even a groomer.
I wouldn't worry - he's just too cute!!! He'd be a little doll no matter what a groomer did to him.
Since your groomer didn't charge you - use your money and take him to another groomer. They shape him up a little better.
My pup's hair is silky and wavy - so even a bad cut comes out looking pretty good on him. Straighter hair (even in people) shows every little mistake. It really is especially hard to shape.
