I've seen some breeders recommend giving calcium during pregnancy, but if you do some research you will find this is very harmful and will probably cause low calcium (eclampsia) after whelping.

Some just think, if protein is good, than more is better, but this is not necessarily true and can actually do harm.

I would just change to the adult formula of the puppy food you have been using - put it in a blender or food processor to make it smaller if you need to.
