I know that it seems harsh to leave your Yorkie alone for so long but many have to do this. I work 9-10 hours a day and have an hour commute (round trip) so my pup is alone 10-11 hours 4 days a week (I know, that some may think it is selfish to get a Yorkie if you can not be with it more, but mine forgives me and still loves me). I lavish much more attention on her in the evenings and weekends, (even when I am home, she sleeps most of the day because that is her routine now), but you do what you have to do. If you are only doing this once in a while, then I think your Yorkie is very lucky like those that have owners that are home more frequently and can be with their Yorkies almost all the time. If he has been fine for 4-6 hours, 10 hours once in a while will not be that horrible - just my opinion.
