We started to get into the same thing with our little 3 month old shih tzu. She had to be syringe fed for several days due to not eating because of an upper respitory infection. I got into the habit of syringe feeding her too often and she was always full..never hungry so why eat on her own? Well after several days the meds kicked in and she was feeling lots better. I took her back to the vet for a re-check and the vets advice was to put down a few dishes of food for her...maybe two or three choices to see what she wants. Leave them down for 20 min. then take them up. We do this now but still have to coax her to get eating which takes several minutes (we put her close to the bowls, put some on our fingers let her lick it). I found she will eat well about every 4 hours. Make sure she's good and hungry. If she choses not to eat oh well...sounds bad but I can't spend the rest of my life force feeding a dog. If she doesnt' eat then it's taken up and 3 hours later put down..she's catching on slowly but surely. Keep your chin up I know how frustrating it is. Also, I make sure she gets a pea size portion of Nutri-cal on my finger 3 times a day to keep her sugar levels up! Hope this helps. Good Luck!!!
