Dogs do not catch the flu, colds, or other human diseases from us.....not do we catch diseases that are common to different animals.

There is what is called a "species barrier." This means that diseases that are common to one species are usually not caught by other species.

There are some few diseases that have mutated so that a mutated form can be contracted by another species, but this usually never happens.
