i had my boston terrier tranied like that because when she was a puppy i could put her in the cage with her pad and not let her out until she pee or pooed and it was really easy to train her v/s trying to get her to stay on the pad because she would just run off of them and pee in the floor b4 i could get to her so it was alot easier for me to train her that way....it was so cute because after she got older she knew what to do to get out she would just pee alittle and she knew it was time to get out and finely i got to where i just left the door open and she would go in and out as she needed to go no problem....but the down side of that was it was really hard for her to go without the cage like if we took her camping or took her for rides it was hard for her to go on a leash....i even had to buy a cage just like hers for our camper so she could go when she needed to go and i would have to take her in the camper to let her go to her cage she just would not go anywhere else....so when we got Bo i said i would never cage train one agian because of this reason i didnt want to have to tote a cage everywhere i went with him so he could potty....but since you already done it i would say like everyone else has said i would just take the cage away while i was home and she how she did without it....i dont know how she is but i know pixie my boston would not use anything else but her cage but your baby might take to the pads on the floor without the cage just fine...good luck i hope all works well with you *hugs* |
