My mom had Rocky's removed when he got neutered. He had to wear a cone around his neck for about a week to keep him from chewing. He was fine other then that. He was actually kinda comical with that thing on. He didn't seem to mind it when he ate, it covered the whole bowl and he didn't have to share.
