I just read an article the other day (darn if I can find it) but it stated another reason to have a puppy stay with its mother until 12 weeks old. It went on to say that mom will correct this bad behavior before it gets out of contol. I can't remember how old your girls were when you got them and this might not have anything to do with it but it is interesting information.
One of my little dudes is just like your girl and he is a handful. It is manic barking - almost like he is insane - of course I am the one going insane. The only way I can stop him is to pick him up but I haven't found the key to getting him to stop. I do not have a problem with him in the car as he is in the back on his lookout seat enjoying everything around him.
