I believe I can answer this. First off, I used to use advantage but now have switched to revolution because it prevents heart worms along with the fleas and ticks. I believe that when you apply a product such as revolution or advantage it is water proof after 2-3 hours because that's how long it takes to soak into the skin and enter the blood stream thus providing the protection. I bathe my yorkies quite a bit...
