I crate ("cage") my boys duriung the day, but I am able to make it home at lunch to let them out. Yesterday I had to leave for the day and they were cooped up for 8 hours...I've only done that twice since I've had them and I usually have someone else come and let them out at least for a potty break. I plan on crating mine until they are completely house trained (potty, chewing, digging, etc) which will probably take a while. Once they are trained they will have free run of the house.
I hope this helps! Goodluck!
