Default hypoglycemia emergency!

my applogizies for interupting your thread, but my wife and i just bought a yourkie two days ago and brought him home w/ us. he did well the first night, drank water and had some food then went to bed. he awoke the next morn in an excited state; however last night it took him ahwile to go to sleep and this morning we had to rush him to the vet where they have him on an iv drip and are monitoring him. my wife is frantic and can't stop crying and i'm finding it very difficult to stay calm for the both of us.
i need to know what the blood/sugar level for these delicate creatures should be?
we have the nutrical but what else can be done in order to avoid this while we're sleeping?
any help would be a god-send!
