I get headaches for a multitude of reasons, allergies, sinus infections, weather changes, dry air, period, & stress. I talked to my doctor and he put me on topamax I was supposed to take 1 before bed everynight. I took one and the next day I had the worst headache of my life, I was nauseous, dizzy, and in a great amount of pain. I called the doctor 3 times to get relieve, I had to go home from work because I couldn't concentrate and felt like I was gonna throw up. The doctor told me to stop taking it, which was a no brainer and drink lots of water. I finally got the okay to take some advil and that really helped. I haven't taken any prescription medicine for my headache since.

Something I have found that works for me is I get a weekly half-hour massage. It helps take the tension out of my shoulders and gives me a half-hour to myself to relax. She also does accupressure on my sinuses which seems to help. I think the main thing is you have to figure out your headache triggers and work from there.
