Default Skelf in Chico's Throat????

Chico always plays with stick in the park, the bigger the better. Although we try to discourage this, he is not interested in his toys when he can carry around a stick instead. Yesterday he was being a bit clingy and quiet (normally very lively!) and didn't seem to want to pick anything up in his mouth. We though he may have hurt his mouth while playing in the park the previous day. By lunch time he was evn more mopey and wouldn't eat, so we took him to the vet who said is temperature was slightly high and she though he'd sprained his jaw. He was give and injection of antibiotic and a painkiller. He perked up a bit and ran about playing and ate his dinner, but afterwards was really mopey again. He wouldn't repond to us and just curled up in a ball. We fed him water through the night but he seemed to be in pain swallowing it. In the morning he wouldn't go for a walk or eat so we tokk him back to the vet. A different vet examined him and after feeling his throat thinks he may have a skelf in his throat. He has been kept in and is currently getting sedated so they can look in his mouth properly.
Has anyone else ever heard of this? Or similar symtoms??
