Sandraj said just what I was going to say! We trained our other dog using the long lead and it worked great with her. I worked with her for a week or so with the long line, using the stay and come commands (and lots of treats) and it worked wonders. I'm just now beginning to work with Topher.
Try doing perhaps a couple of 10 or 15 minute sessions a day....don't make it too long. It will work if you keep consistent and use lots of praise when they do the right thing.
It might take a while for her to catch on, but don't give up!!! You'll find that when you least expect it, the lightbulb WILL go on over her head! These pups are smart little cookies.
Oh, and speaking of cookies, lol...one way for sure I can get Topher to come to me is to say the word 'cookie'. That guy will wake from a sound sleep if he hears that word whispered in another room...lol...and he comes running at break neck speed!! I find myself having to spell it out now, when using the word in conversation!!
