I trained my pom by first teaching her the stay command in the back yard. After she mastered that I worked on her staying and then moving a little ways a way and calling her to come. I did this for 1/2 hour several days in a row and reinforced every spring when we would be outside. Maya can be outside with me with no leash and will always stay on our property. She comes when called. Now Cali forget it, I tried working with her but outside she is so distracted. I need to spend more time working on her. |
