Wee Wee Pad or Lobster Bib I came home Friday to a very unusual sight. I've been having trouble with getting our puppy to leave his wee wee pad alone. He takes it out of the holder and drags it all over his x-pen. After getting advice from some members as well as our breeder, I decided to use newspaper. Even though I was switching to newspaper, I wanted to have a supply of wee wee pads on hand, and when I was at Walmarts, I bought a package from a different manufacturer. When I left for work on Friday morning, I decided to give the new wee wee pad a try, thinking that maybe another brand would make a difference.
When I came into the mud room on Friday evening, I was astonished at what I saw. Our puppy had eaten/torn through the new wee wee pad, somehow gotten it over his head and in an attempt to get it off, had made a noose of it. Fortunately, it did not get very tight and he is fine. I, of course, felt great relief that he wasn't hurt and very guilty because I knew the pads weren't working--although I never could have imagined that wee wee pads could be a health risk!
