I'm no expert, but Yorkies come in LOTS of colors. I think though, the basic colors are black and gold or blue and tan. The difference between tan and gold is that gold is darker than tan. Also, the blue is supposed to be steel blue. However, you will see some very light colors. My Rowdy is almost blond all over - but he does have some silvery gray on his back. The top of his head is very light blond, but he has darker gold on his ears. There are links in the stickies to read about the breed standard for Yorkies - it's very informative.
