I just wanted to post this experience for you guys to ponder over. I recently purchased a puppy (not a yorkie, rather a cairn terrier) in the state of Kentucky (where I have lived all my life) and the breeder (of 40 yrs) had been giving her own shots to her pups under supervision of a veternarian even and when I took the puppy to my vet for her next set of shots, my vet did not recognize any of the shots that had been given as they had not been given by a licensed veternarian. I had to call the vet that oversaw the breeder of the puppy to get his okay to put his name on the original shots in order to not have my vet give the shots again! In the state of Kentucky, if a licensed veternarian didn't give the shot, they are not recognized as having been given. Therefore, if the veternarian that the breeder uses had said I couldnt' put his name on the first shots, then the puppy would have had to have ALL her shots over again, starting with the very first one.
