A 6 week old pup is very young, so your Gf needs to be prepare and learn how to handle a newborn. Like Kim said we dont know the circunstances why she is getting such a young pup. I just wish her good luck. Also will love to see a pic, I have never see a (Lhorkie?) before. I bet is adorable.
