Topher has slept with us since his first night home. He spent a long day travelling in his kennel that day, so I didn't have the heart to put him back in it at bedtime. He curled up next to me and slept through the night till I woke him in the morning. It's been like that for the past few months. (He's 6 mos. old now)
I have M.S. and nap and rest quite a bit. Topher is in bed with me whenever I'm in bed...he won't have it any other way. Even if I have the odd day when I stay in bed for most of the time, he wants to stay with me and only gets up to eat or do his business.
I'd suggest trying him out for naps and if he sees that you're not going to play with him and are going to sleep, he might eventually catch on. Sorry, I can't think of anything else to suggest. Good luck!
