The Pumpkin needs to be the kind without spices in it and I always made a plate with the chicken and rice on one side and the pumpkin on the other..mainly because if they wouldn't eat one of them I wanted to know.
Also what kind of mulch do you have down - some are very harmful to a dog.
It sounds to me also that your little one is constipated. Did you tell the vet office what you had to do to get it out?
Well my best advise is to keep him out of the mulch, do the chicken & rice with the pumpkin.
