She is very sweet. Yogi did the same thing the first night we brought him home and put him in a steel or wire crate, whatever you call that darn thing. It didn't help where we put it. We were up most the night, moving that thing up and down the stairs, into different rooms, putting blankets over it, etc. No matter what we did, he cried.
We finally put him downstairs in our half bath with his blankets, beds, toys, etc. I sat downstairs and listened. Silence, beautiful silence. However, we wanted to crate train him as we heard that is the fastest, easiest way and the safest place for him to be.
I went out and got him a hard sided, hard plastic dog carrier. One that was for a dog twice his size. (petsmart has them on their website.) I bought a bed specifically for it, too. It covers the whole bottom of it. He went right in it and not a peep from him yet! I use that instead of our wire crate for crate training and for keeping him safe. We've tried to put him in the wire crate since and he does the same thing, cries and howls. He just doesn't like it for some reason.
So we are using the hard plastic carrier instead....he loves it.
