Good Question...I have a 3 year old and we still shut his crate door at night when it is time to go to bed. I don't want him up in the middle of the night wandering all over the house. No telling what he might get into if I ever left the door open. Of course he might just sleep all night but I never thought of taking a chance and leaving it open.
