If you do a search on here for pet insurance you will come across a few threads where this was discussed and may pick up some valuable information. I don't personally have insurance but I was considering it at one time. From my understanding, it doesn't quite work like our insurance where your doctor accepts it and the insurance company covers your bills. The way it works is you pay the vet costs up front and then the insurance company reimburses you later. Some people feel it is worth it and others don't so it is probably whatever is your personal preference. Also be aware that certain policies don't cover certain things like emergency care and medication or vaccinations. Be sure to read the policy to become familiar with what you are covered for.
