My Sissy is 8 months old, 3 1/2 lbs and will not go down the stairs. She has no difficulty running up them, or jumping onto the couch. To get down from the couch or even the bed (which is much higher) - she litterally flies! She did fall down the stairs once shortly after she came home, at around 14 weeks old. Since then, she will not even try to go down the stairs. She will jump down from the deck, but it is low and flat. I think she knows her body is top-heavy and when she does things slowly, she topples over. I don't think this is going to change. She stands at the top of the stairs and whines when she wants to get down.
