I have a 55 gallon tank and really any tank needs to be cleaned and have water changes. We change half the water every other week. Even though the tank can look clean we test the water regularly for amonia and nitrates which if high can kill the fish. I also would suggest getting a good book on aquariums to get you started. You can't just put fish into the tank without cycling it first.
I LOVE my little fishys and most of them have names! I have a semi-aggressive tank with 3 parrot cichlids, 1 pleco, 3 cory catfish, 5 tiger barbs and six giant danios. Here's a picture of Burt, Ernie and Bubba and one of Bubba the ham loving his picture being taken.
