What about leaving your pup a frozen kong? I leave Nikko kongs stuffed with treats or frozen with peanut butter or yogurt. He loves this and doesn't even notice when I leave. Plus these are a lot safer than most chew toys. But I agree with Snow Wa. I think dogs sleep most of the day, especially when left alone. I know lots of times when i come home, Nikko has his just woke up from a nap sleepy face on.
