I do leave my Yorkies with bully sticks unattended, but until recently I was doing the same with Greenies and have never had any problems. From my observation they actually chew the bully sticks and never bite off a piece that they could choke on. The greenies did disappear a lot quicker so i am sure they probably were swallowing chunks. Mine are all 4 pounds or less and I give them the bully sticks that are about 7" long, 1" wide, 1/2" thick and I throw them away when they are less than 3".
Although choking could be a problem, I think a puppy with nothing to do is worse. |
